Henry Amos and Frances Osborn

Henry Amos Osborn purchased Mount Pleasant from the Whitakers for $12,000 in 1889. The canning magnate added Mount Pleasant to his "Blenheim estate" and went into debt while building the Blenheim mansion.  He transferred much of his holdings to a Trustee in insolvency.  The family slowly paid off their debts and recovered their assets, but Mount Pleasant was left in disrepair until Charles E. Bryan purchased the property in 1907.
